COVID Policies for Students and Faculty

The Academy of Performing Arts COVID-19

Policies & Protocols for Students and Faculty

As of August 7, 2021, The Academy of Performing Arts will implement the revised procedures and protocols (original protocols 5/29/21) to reflect current state and local mandated health and safety guidelines. All protocols are subject to revision as new information becomes available.

Proof of vaccination is required for all students and faculty who plan to attend in-person classes. Faculty who elect to remain unvaccinated may teach remotely, and unvaccinated students may only attend classes with a remote option.

All teachers and students, vaccinated or non-vaccinated, are required to wear masks while inside the Playhouse.

Masks will be optional for classes held out of doors as long as students and teachers are able to maintain social distancing.

Teachers should maximize ventilation in their indoor teaching spaces whenever possible by opening doors and windows and employing fans to increase clean airflow.

All students and teachers will maintain social distancing when indoors.

Students and teachers who are either exhibiting COVID symptoms or have reason to believe they may be harboring an asymptomatic infection should contact Dr. Zilleruelo at artz@academyplayhouse.org to discuss rescheduling options.

Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at various locations. High-contact surfaces (door handles, countertops, etc.) will be wiped down and sanitized before, during and after each class.
